Dear Parents/Guardians,                                                        September 9, 2015
Our class will be exploring non-fiction throughout the school year. I wanted to make sure that they were learning as much about non-fiction, as they were about the topics they were reading about.
Scholastic News® is a magazine I’d like to get for every child in my class. Each issue teaches them important current events and social studies lessons with eye-opening photos and diagrams and up-to-date articles I know your child will be excited to read.
In every issue, we’ll learn about topics like space exploration, Women’s History Month, and animal migration with articles and activities that develop the reading-comprehension and critical-thinking skills your child needs to succeed. Plus, it comes with special supplements called Science Spin® that builds understanding of science concepts like forces and motion; and Geography Spin that builds geography skills like reading a compass rose, understanding longitude and latitude, and reading a distance scale.
With your contribution, we’ll get 24 issues (plus 8 issues of Science Spin, and 8 issues of Geography Spin) that your child can bring home and share with you. Your family will also get access to the Scholastic News website and iPad® app featuring entertaining videos and test prep materials.
I have already ordered and purchased the magazines. Your help in making this valuable resource a part of your child’s education is greatly appreciated. Please send cash or a check made payable to Scholastic News in the amount of $7.62 ($6.93 plus shipping and handling), so that we can start using the magazine as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support in helping me make your child’s education meaningful and successful.
                                                                                  Sincerely,

                                                                        Mrs. Michele Lee
